As someone that has kept aquarium fish for many years, this tank is perfect for cuttings and for quarantine use. It runs extremely quiet provided you ensure all air is expelled from the pump, easily solved by blocking flow with a finger for no more than 2 seconds to force air out. My plant cuttings with the addition of plant food are rooting easily with the light that also comes with this tank. However, it is small and only suitable for a maximum 5 small fish and they really do not have much room to swim around in, so be mindful. One thing that is not mentioned is you will need a heater to control temperature, I purchased a mini 10W unit with a guage (under £10) and this will fit into a back compartment and share the outlet slot with the pump. Overall a very nice, neat and modern looking tank which serves a very useful purpose
